Paul Aplin OBE FCA CTA(Fellow)
Paul Aplin OBE is a well-known commentator on tax issues. He is a tax partner at Taunton firm, AC Mole & Sons, ICAEW vice-president and a pioneer of the digital taxation movement, having filed the UK’s first electronic self-assessment return in 1997 and participated in virtually every HMRC digital programme since. He sits on HMRC’s Admin Burdens Advisory Board, its Digital Advisory Group and was a member of HMRC’s Carter Project Board. He holds a number of high profile awards including Tax Personality of the Year in 2007, the Outstanding Industry Contribution award in the 2013 British Accountancy Awards and he was appointed OBE in The Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2009 for public service and services to the accountancy profession.
