[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This was Syft’s first year at Accountex, and what a way to start! Five of us came over from our base in South Africa, bringing hand-painted paintings of local animals from a talented artist we partnered with in Johannesburg, as well as an abundance of “braai salts”. It’s difficult to tell what was more popular – the African spice rub for meat on the barbeque (braai in Afrikaans) or the paintings. However, it was clear that even more popular than our swag was our very own Head of Sales, Swantje Ebert, who had people queuing up to meet her in person! After years of meeting with our UK clients virtually, it was amazing to finally meet them in person and to meet up with so many other amazing accountants and business owners too.
This year, Syft won the Xero App Partner of the Year Award in the UK, and, for the first time since COVID, we were able to travel to London to receive it and to attend Accountex. Accountex pulsed with energy and a hubbub of excited attendees. It was a pleasure to have so many great conversations around adding value to accountants’ service offerings, improving efficiency, and finding ways to move into new spaces.
What’s become abundantly clear is that accounting and technology can no longer really be thought of as separate entities. From well-established accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage to newer apps for payroll or reporting and analytics, tech is changing the face of accounting and freeing up time for accountants to invest more energy in business development and having meaningful conversations with clients.
After winning numerous awards from Xero and the Accounting Excellence Awards and being finalists for the LUCA Awards, we felt it was time to join the stage in person in London. Syft Analytics is dedicated to making financial data simple. We help accountants to review, analyze, and predict financial data so that they and their clients can make better financial decisions.
Accountex was an invigorating experience for us, from the response to our solution to the excitement over our African rub and one-of-a-kind paintings. We can’t wait to return here next year with even more updates to our software to help more accountants add value to their clients – and bring more of a taste of sunny South Africa to the UK.
