The sun was shining in Manchester for the sixth edition of Accountex Summit Manchester, which took place on 17 September 2024.

The show has continued to break records, welcoming over a thousand more attendees through its doors since 2022.

Portfolio Director, Caroline Hobden commented “We are thrilled with the overwhelming feedback from Accountex Summit Manchester this year! The energy, engagement, and insights shared by attendees, speakers and exhibitors exceeded all expectations. It’s a huge testament to the powerful accounting and finance community in the North.”

‘Fantastic exhibitors presenting cutting-edge tools and solutions’

A diverse range of over 120 software and service providers showcased their products, from payroll and pensions to cybersecurity and cryptocurrency. Attendees received tailored demonstrations from prospective suppliers and caught up with current providers.

“Technology is changing the accounting world significantly. It’s great to see which vendors are leading this charge first hand!” Commented visitor, Max Glennon, Director of Partnerships, Adsum.

‘It’s like Disneyland for accountants, minus the roller coasters but with a lot of talks about AI and digital transformation.’

Over 60 industry-leading speakers took to four different stages to deliver 32 CPD-accredited seminars at the show, covering everything from sustainability and recruitment to machine learning and leadership.

Thought leaders and experts who are shaping the future of the profession provided attendees with fresh ideas, updates and motivation to put into action when they return to their desks.

After the success at  Accountex London, the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) sponsored British Sign Language interpretation at the theatres. The interpreters were part of a recent collaboration, that saw AAT named Accountex’s first-ever ‘Accessibility Partner’.

Visitor Libby Walklett, Director at The Ethical Bookkeeper Ltd said “Accountex is always a day well spent! With free CPD sessions, cutting-edge software updates, and insights from top industry experts, it’s an inspiring break from the office. Plus, there’s loads of time for networking and catching up with friends. What’s not to love?”

‘It’s the perfect blend of fun, learning and networking – I enjoyed every minute.’

The show has proved itself to be a hive of opportunity and education for accounting and finance professionals in the north of the UK.  In the ever-evolving world of accounting and finance, it’s important that people stay up to date with the latest technological advancements and changing legislation.

“It’s an essential part of my calendar year to go to Accountex. Every Bookkeeper, Accountant and finance professional should be going. You can network, learn and grow, totally for free!” Commented Rebekah Vanden, Complete Office Support at Bookkeeping Limited T/A COS Bookkeeping.

Excellent for learning, networking and growing your business! 100% worth it.

Alongside the CPD accredited seminar programme and extensive exhibitor list, there were plenty of opportunities for socialising. The annual After Party gave visitors, speakers and exhibitors the opportunity to network and unwind after a busy day.
